Converting length
Length measures distance along one dimension. International feet and inches have fixed relationships to the metre: one inch is exactly 0.0254 metres.
How the calculation works
Multiply the source value by its base-unit factor, then divide by the destination factor. For example, 1 m ≈ 3.280839895 ft.
Precision and rounding
Choose 6, 10 or 15 significant figures for the displayed result. Calculations use unrounded JavaScript numbers. The ≈ symbol indicates that displayed results may be rounded; significant figures are display precision, not measurement accuracy.
